1. Obtain a permit from the building official.
-Bring a drawing of sketch of the lot and specifications of the fence
2. Confirm the location of lot lines.
-Surveyed markers are the standard confirmation
3. Fence may be built up to, but not over, the lot line.
-Front lot line begins eighteen inches from the sidewalk on the house side.
4. Height beyond front of house may not exceed four feet.
-Main structure only; it does not include porches, etc.
5. Height in the rear may not exceed ten feet.
-Standard is six feet.
6. Corner lots may not construct anything over two and one half feet high within twenty five eet of the intersection right of way.
7. The finished side of the fence must face adjacent properties.
8. No agricultural type fencing is permited.
9. Chain-link fence is to be installed with barbed end down.
10. It is the owners responsibility to maintain both sides of the fence.
-Keep this in mind if planning to build to the lot line.
